Sivananda Saraswathi Sevashram is a Chennai based charitable organization providing free food education and shelter for nearly 300 Orphans and 60 odd senior citizens. This organization has record of services since 1945 and has been taking care of the poor destitute, orphans, sick and the old. They also run Schools Nursery primary high schools, which cater to the needs of the education.

It is a public charitable trust and registered and governed by a select group of distinguished personalities. They are accountable to Internal Audit State Govt. and Central Govt. Audits and also the Income Tax department and submit returns. They are only supported with a nominal grant for Rs. 36/- per month per inmate from the Govt. of Tamil Nadu and spend a sum of Rs. 1000/- per child for education food medical and other amenities and welfare.

They seek your support and help in what ever way possible and your help in this regard will go a long way to help them in maintaining 300 kids. You may participate in sponsorship, endowments scheme, give a feast or poor feeding on a suitable date of your choice, contributing on festivals like Deepawali, Pongal, New Year day, Christmas, Ramadan, and other festivals and ensure that they are taken care as any normal child requires. You may also join as a member or life member and promote their social work.

The best service that you can do is to visit their ashram as and when you are free and see by your self the service they do. Your visit will certainly boost the morale of the kids and their inferiority complex of being an Orphan will be totally eradicated. You will also have the pleasure of being with the sea of humanity and their kids would love to see you at their home.
